Today I have a small but exciting update for Moth-Light, including new art, a new and flavorful pact, and some fun playbook tweaks.

Update #1: Introducing the iconic Sage

The sage depicted here is a scavenger from the Scattered clan. I just love his hat and the dynamic pose Al chose for this one.

Update #2: Changes to the Heart and Shell special playbooks

Both of these special playbooks have gotten some extra attention with this update. I wanted to reinforce the idea that these playbooks exist to tell their own self contained story within the wider picture of your campaign. As such I've introduced the mechanics that play on Personal Bonds: a measure of self confidence and personal knowledge that further defines both playbooks. This theme is also used in the Jammer playbook, which I'll talk more about shortly!

Update #3: Re-Introducing Moth-Light Jammers

I'd had an alpha version of this pact up previously but I feel you will find this new re-imagined version superior in every way. As an alternative to the Promise pact, Jammers offers a more self contained and directed story modeled after your favorite sports dramas. It features community driven conflict, complicated team dynamics, and more than a little commentary on faith and culture.

One thing I'm proud of is that, while this supplement features some new mechanics and play structures for running a jamming campaign, the Jammer playbook and its mechanics are completely compatible with the base game. Frankly I'd love to see someone play a jamming champion sent out to help heroes in the distant village of Fallen Leaf. Alternatively you could run your heroes through a match or two of jamming just fine.

This pact is currently in a beta state and I hope to receive feedback on it from interested parties. Know that I plan to work on a Scavengers pact, next, with a similar philosophy: cross-compatibility, familiar but significantly altered themes and play structures.

Update #3b: The Jammer

The Jammer is a new playbook introduced with this pact. You'll note that this is a special playbook with a story of their own. In the New-Steel clan, Jammers are champions tasked with a sacred duty to their people and to themselves. They have a lot to live up to and their personal bond and starting ability both live up to that. Their special list of actions and attributes are COMPLETLEY new, with only a couple familiar verbs remaining, and their special abilities are unusually diverse while sharing in themes of teamwork and competition.
