Alpha 1.0 and the future of Moth-Light


Welcome to Moth-Light!

This weekend marks a few big milestones for me.

A number of new features have been added to the game and I feel it’s mechanically more cohesive than its ever been. You can see some of these features reflected in the new and improved character sheets  and reference material!

An official Moth-Light playtest is underway: we’re playing a Pact who have sworn a promise to reclaim a newly discovered Warren despite the ominous signs that something isn’t quite right deep down in the heart of Ember’s Passing.

Chapters have been fleshed out and rearranged to allow for better reading and absorption of the rules! Not quite content complete but the framework is in place.

I’ve chosen to advance the game to 1.0 to reflect the nearly complete alpha state of the game. With art on its way and a layout and editing phase imminent, the game will be entering Beta territory soon.

What will that entail?

-Cover and character art by the lovely Al Lukehart

-Some preliminary layout experiments which I’ll be sure to share here

-An actual play coming in February

-Lots of edits, a rounding out of key chapters, and an expansive player feedback stage

-Some special supplements including Jammers: a self contained campaign focusing in-fiction sports stars vying for the favor of their chosen Speaker deep within the Warrens of New Steel.

I’ve been so energized to work on Moth-Light lately. Expect frequent updates through this year as I build up hype for the game and consider how I want to get it to print.
